Through cold-drawing treatment, the inner wall roughness (Ra) of this large diameter welded stainless steel pipe is reduced to ≤1.6 μm; this results in low fluid resistance and makes the pipe highly resistant to scaling and clogging.
The piping material exhibits exceptional resistance to general corrosion and intergranular corrosion. Following welding, the entire length of the pipe undergoes solution treatment, resulting in grain refinement within both the weld seam and the heat-affected zone. Furthermore, the material has successfully passed intergranular corrosion tests in accordance with ASTM A262 Practice E (or the sulfuric acid–copper sulfate method).

Possible Alternative Grades
- For ultra-high-temperature applications-such as those found in refinery high-temperature heating furnaces and exhaust gas systems-Grade 310S is the preferred choice, capable of operating stably at temperatures exceeding 1000°C.
- For piping systems continuously exposed to the sensitization temperature range of 400°C to 800°C-and for which full post-weld heat treatment is not feasible-Grades 321 and 347/347H are recommended for their excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion.
- For auxiliary refinery piping networks with limited budgets and extremely mild corrosive conditions, Duplex Stainless Steel Grade 2205 is a suitable option; while it offers excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, it is not suitable for ultra-high-temperature applications.

Q: What is the maximum outer diameter and wall thickness you can produce?
A: We can produce outer diameters up to 1800mm and wall thicknesses up to 60mm. Please confirm with our technical department in advance for extra-large sizes.
Q: Does all pipework undergo non-destructive testing before delivery?
A: Yes. All ASTM A358 pipes undergo both ultrasonic (UT) and radiographic (RT) non-destructive testing before leaving the factory, strictly adhering to Class 1-Class 5 standards. They are free of defects such as weld porosity, cracks, and slag inclusions. Complete test reports are available and meet refinery acceptance standards.
Q: Can you perform high-temperature resistance and corrosion-resistant strengthening treatments?
A: Supported. We can provide customized treatments such as electropolishing, strengthening passivation, high-temperature coatings, and stress-relief annealing, significantly improving the pipes' resistance to high-temperature oxidation and media corrosion.
