What is duplex stainless steel pipe?
Duplex stainless steel pipe refers to pipes made from duplex stainless steel. This material has a unique dual-phase microstructure of austenite and ferrite (usually approximately 50% each, but at least 30%). It combines the corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel with the high strength and processing properties of ferritic stainless steel.
Common duplex stainless steel grades include UNS S32205 (2205), UNS S32750 (2507), UNS S32101 (2101), and UNS S32304 (2304). Applications include petrochemicals, offshore engineering, and other fields.
