Produced through processes such as cold drawing, bright annealing, and precision straightening, the tubing features exceptional dimensional accuracy, superior corrosion resistance, and an ultra-smooth inner surface. It is widely used in demanding applications such as human and veterinary medical injections, dental anesthesia, and drug delivery systems.

Medical and small diameter hypodermic tubing is manufactured using a multi-pass cold-drawing process, ensuring high dimensional precision. Outer diameter tolerances are controlled within ±0.01 mm, and the inner surface roughness is Ra ≤ 0.4 μm, guaranteeing smooth fluid delivery without residue.


The tubing is made from stainless steel grades such as 304 and 316; notably, the 316L grade offers effective resistance to pitting and intergranular corrosion caused by chlorine-based disinfectants, saline solutions, and repeated sterilization processes.

 

Customized Services

 

  1. TORICH supports material customization; in addition to common stainless steel grades like 304 and 316, we offer hypodermic tubing in specialized materials such as 321, 347, duplex stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys.
  2. We accommodate custom specifications with any outer diameter between 0.15mm and 6mm and any wall thickness between 0.04mm and 1mm.
  3. Various needle tip geometries are available-including single-bevel, double-bevel, and triple-bevel designs-with an angular precision of ±0.5°.
  4. We support end-forming processes such as flaring (bell-mouth or 60° internal cone), swaging, flanging, and curling.
  5. Electropolishing of both inner and outer surfaces is available, achieving a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 0.2 μm, making the tubing suitable for interventional medical devices requiring high levels of cleanliness.

Possible Alternative Grades

 

  1. For pre-filled syringes containing high concentrations of chloride ions or acidic buffers, duplex stainless steel 2205-which offers superior corrosion resistance compared to 316L-may be selected.
  2. Grade 316 stainless steel can be used as an alternative to 316L when higher corrosion resistance is required, but welding performance demands are less stringent; it is suitable for medical devices exposed to saline environments or aggressive cleaning conditions.

EP (Electropolished) surfaces achieve an Ra of ≤ 0.2 μm and offer enhanced corrosion resistance, making them ideal for high-end applications involving contact with medicinal fluids.

Q: How are the products packaged for delivery? Can you guarantee no deformation or contamination during transport?

A: Standard packaging involves encasing the tubes in PVC sleeves with dust caps at both ends, wrapping the bundle in bubble wrap, and placing it in a carton; long tubes are reinforced with wooden supports to prevent bending or deformation. High-cleanliness products are individually sealed in vacuum bags or clean protective sleeves.
