Multi Core Tube

Multi Core Tube

Multi-core pipe is an integrated piping system consisting of multiple seamless stainless steel pipes (typically 316L), each independently transporting hydraulic fluid or gas. Each inner pipe is covered with a color-coded PVC sleeve (e.g., red, blue, or green) to quickly identify the channel's function. It is primarily used in marine and offshore applications.
Tube Outer Diameter: 6mm-15mm
Tube Wall Thickness: 0.5mm-2mm
Length: Can be customized upon request
Outer sheath:PVC, black color
Individual tube sheath: PVC,color identification
Steel Grade:304 316 316L

Product Introduction

Products Description

Multi Core Tube

Advantages of Multi Core Tube

  • Multiple individual pipes conveying different media (such as hydraulic oil, cooling water, compressed air, and cable signals) are integrated into a single outer sheath, reducing piping footprint within the limited space of a vessel and streamlining installation and maintenance.
  • The outer sheath is made of PVC, resistant to seawater corrosion, high and low temperatures, UV rays, and mechanical wear, making it suitable for the harsh environments of ship navigation, including humidity, salt spray, and vibration.
  • Different sub-pipes can handle various functions, including power transmission (hydraulic/pneumatic), cooling circulation, and signal communication, meeting the diverse needs of ship equipment (such as steering gear, anchor winch, navigation systems, and cabin air conditioning).

Applications of Multi Core Tube

  • Ship Power Systems: Transmits hydraulic oil to drive deck machinery (such as cranes and winches).
  • Cooling and Ventilation: Transmits cooling water to cool engines and generators, or distributes fresh air for air conditioning.
  • Communications and Control: Internal cables protect signal transmission (such as for navigation equipment and steering control system commands).
  • Cabin Services: Used for short-distance transport of drinking water and sewage, or for compressed air supply (such as for pneumatic tools and cabin pneumatic valves).

Possible Alternative Grades

  • Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205) – Offers higher strength and better resistance to stress corrosion cracking in brine and seawater environments.
  • Super Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) – Excellent for high-pressure and highly corrosive offshore applications, especially where strength and resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking are critical.
  • Alloy 825 (UNS N08825) – Suitable for extremely aggressive chemical environments including sulfuric and phosphoric acids.
  • Titanium Grade 2 – Exceptional resistance to seawater and chloride environments, often used in desalination or marine biomedical systems.
  • PTFE or Nylon Core Tubes – Used when chemical resistance and flexibility are needed, often with outer metallic protection.

Packaging

Once the pipes have passed all inspections and tests, they are ready for packaging. They are usually packaged in bales wrapped in plastic. The pipes can be bundled and ready for delivery according to customer requirements, ensuring that the pipes are protected during transportation and prevent surface damage.
