Compared to carbon steel and galvanized steel pipes, stainless welded steel tube offers superior corrosion resistance, effectively withstanding the corrosive effects of chlorinated water, municipal sewage, and industrial wastewater. They boast a longer service life and require no additional anti-corrosion coatings.

Stainless welded tubes are compatible with various welding methods-including TIG, MIG, and plasma arc welding-and can meet standard corrosion resistance requirements without the need for post-weld heat treatment, thereby significantly reducing on-site installation complexity and construction costs.

Composed of lead-free materials devoid of harmful substances, stainless steel is 100% recyclable; discarded materials can be fully recycled and reused, imposing no burden on the environment.

Possible Alternative Grades

  1. 904L high-alloy stainless steel exhibits excellent acid resistance and can serve as a substitute for TP317L in systems handling highly acidic industrial wastewater.
  2. 2205 duplex stainless steel possesses a yield strength approximately double that of TP316L, making it suitable for high-pressure wastewater pipelines and sludge transport systems.
  3. ASTM A409 stainless steel pipe, primarily composed of ferritic stainless steel, offers cost advantages and is well-suited for general municipal sewage treatment applications.

applications Areas

  1. In municipal wastewater treatment plants: raw sewage transmission pipelines, aeration pipelines and oxygen distribution systems, treated effluent discharge pipelines, etc.
  2. In industrial wastewater treatment systems: chemical plant effluent discharge pipelines, thermal power plant wastewater recirculation systems, textile dyeing and printing wastewater transport systems, etc.
  3. In sludge treatment and dewatering systems: thickened sludge transport pipelines, sludge digestion recirculation systems, high-solids slurry transport systems, etc.
  4. In reclaimed water and water reuse systems: industrial process water reuse pipelines, cooling tower makeup water systems, etc.

FAQ

Q: Why is austenitic stainless steel the preferred choice for sewage treatment equipment?

A: Sewage is highly corrosive; austenitic stainless steel forms a dense Cr₂O₃ oxide film on its surface, offering excellent corrosion resistance as well as good plasticity and toughness.

Q: Does the "unannealed" state affect the performance of the piping?

A: "Unannealed" refers to the absence of post-weld solution heat treatment. This approach utilizes low-carbon materials-such as 304L or 316L-which effectively suppress the precipitation of chromium carbides during the welding process. Consequently, the piping can meet general corrosion resistance requirements without the need for post-weld heat treatment.

Q: What is the maximum size you can produce for large-diameter piping?

A: Our standard production range covers outer diameters from 75 mm to 1200 mm (3 in. to 48 in.), with a maximum production capacity extending up to 80 inches (approximately 2032 mm).
