C70600 Tube

C70600 Tube is a seamless tube manufactured in accordance with ASTM B111 standards. It is made of C70600 Copper-Nickel Alloy (90/10 CuNi), containing approximately 90% copper and 10% nickel. It is resistant to seawater corrosion and biofouling, and has excellent thermal conductivity. It is commonly used in condensers and heat exchangers in marine environments.

1. Seawater Corrosion Resistance

  • The 1.0%–1.8% iron content in C70600 is a key factor in its resistance to seawater corrosion. Our pipes undergo strict chemical composition control to ensure their alloy composition meets ASTM B111 standards.
  • The C70600 tube surface undergoes pickling, passivation, and mechanical polishing, resulting in a smooth surface that is less prone to scaling and improves its resistance to biofouling, making it particularly suitable for heat exchangers, condensers, and seawater cooling systems.

 

2. High Heat Transfer Efficiency

  • The thermal conductivity of C70600 alloy is approximately 29 W/m·K, making its heat transfer efficiency three times that of stainless steel and twice that of titanium alloys. Therefore, high heat transfer efficiency can be achieved with a smaller heat exchange surface area, making it suitable for compact heat exchanger designs.
  • The C70600 tube undergoes a precision drawing process, resulting in uniform wall thickness and strict dimensional tolerances. Each batch undergoes 100% dimensional inspection to ensure compliance with ASTM B111 standards.

 

3. Excellent Machining Performance

  • Our tubing is supplied in the annealed state (O60 soft state), offering excellent ductility and formability, allowing for cold bending, coiling, and folding without significant breakage. It can be adjusted to either a hard (H) or semi-hard (HR04) state to meet application requirements.
  • The tubing undergoes a rigorous heat treatment process, followed by control tests for tensile strength, hardness, and other mechanical properties, to ensure compliance with ASTM B111 standards.

 

4. Customized Services

  • TORICH supports non-standard sizes, custom tolerances, and surface treatment services, including end chamfering and deburring for easy assembly and welding.

Alternative Grades Reasons
UNS C71500 With a nickel content of approximately 30%, it offers superior resistance to seawater corrosion, but at a higher price.
Titanium Grade 2 It resists seawater corrosion and is lighter than C70600, but is more expensive and requires specialized welding processes.
UNS S32205 It possesses higher mechanical strength and good corrosion resistance, but has poor thermal conductivity and is not resistant to biofouling.
