Cold Drawn Seamless Stainless Steel Tube is manufactured using a multi-pass precision cold-drawing process, achieving an outer diameter tolerance of Grade D4 (±0.1 mm) and a wall thickness tolerance of Grade T4 (±0.15 mm).
Compared to ordinary carbon steel piping, stainless steel offers a 60% improvement in corrosion resistance, enabling stable, long-term operation in harsh chemical environments characterized by acidic, alkaline, saline, or humid conditions.
Following solution annealing treatment, the tubing exhibits a uniform metallographic structure free of internal stresses, making it ideally suited for the demanding, high-pressure operating conditions required in chemical reactors, high-pressure heat exchangers, and pressurized transport pipelines.

Possible Alternative Grades
- When 316L stainless steel proves ineffective against corrosive chemical media-such as hot organic acids, phosphoric acid, or fatty acids-Grade 1.4438 (317L stainless steel) offers significantly enhanced corrosion resistance.
- For demanding environments characterized by high concentrations of chlorides and hydrogen sulfide, Grade 1.4462 (Duplex 2205) is a suitable choice; with a PREN of ≥ 35, it exhibits outstanding resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
application areas
EN 10216-5 cold-drawn seamless stainless steel is widely adapted for critical applications across various chemical processing equipment; specific applications include:
- Chemical Reactors: Internal coils, jackets, and connecting piping within batch reactors and continuously stirred tank reactors used for processing corrosive chemical substances under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.
- Heat Exchangers: Used for heating, cooling, and condensing fluids within chemical process streams, including shell-and-tube, U-tube, and double-pipe heat exchangers.
- Distillation Columns: Reboiler piping, condenser piping, and internal column components utilized in petrochemical and solvent recovery distillation systems.
- Pressure Vessels: Seamless steel tubes used for pressure-bearing components within chemical storage and reaction units. These steel tubes fully comply with the relevant requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive.

FAQ
Q: What is the maximum service temperature for stainless steel tubes conforming to the EN 10216-5 standard?
A: The maximum continuous service temperature depends on the specific material grade. Austenitic stainless steels-such as Grade 1.4301 (304)-have a maximum service temperature of approximately 350°C, whereas Grade 1.4404 (316L), which contains molybdenum, can withstand temperatures of up to 400°C.
Q: What surface finish options are available for chemical processing applications?
A: We offer a variety of surface finishes, including pickling and passivation, bright annealing, mechanical polishing, and electropolishing.
Q: Do cold-drawn stainless steel tubes suffer from internal stresses that could lead to subsequent deformation?
A: No. Our tubes undergo solution annealing to relieve the internal stresses generated during the cold-drawing process. This ensures a uniform metallurgical structure, thereby preventing issues such as deformation or cracking.
