The titanium element added to SA312 TP321 321H stainless steel pipe effectively inhibits the precipitation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries, thereby fundamentally preventing the occurrence of intergranular corrosion. These pipes are suitable for high-temperature boiler applications and can operate within the temperature range of 425–815°C without undergoing sensitization.


TP321/TP321H stainless steel pipes can be joined using various welding methods, including TIG, MIG, and arc welding.The chromium and nickel elements present in TP321/TP321H form a dense passivation film on the pipe surface, which effectively resists corrosion from acidic media found in boiler feedwater, steam, and flue gases.

Possible Alternative Grades

 

  1. The high-temperature creep performance of TP347 / TP347H is comparable to that of TP321H, allowing for long-term service temperatures of up to 900°C; these grades are utilized in power generation boilers where temperatures are extremely high.
  2. For applications involving oxidizing atmospheres-such as furnace tubes and heaters-TP310S is a suitable choice, offering exceptional oxidation resistance at temperatures below 1100°C.
  3. For sections within power generation boilers where the medium contains high concentrations of chloride ions and is highly corrosive, TP316 / TP316H may be selected.
