Products Description

310S contains a high proportion of chromium and nickel, making it a high-temperature-resistant stainless steel capable of withstanding environments ranging from 800°C to 1000°C (1472°F–1832°F), with a maximum service temperature reaching 1150°C (2102°F). It is well-suited for high-temperature applications such as industrial furnaces and heat treatment equipment.

ASTM A312 310S Seamless SS Stainless Steel Tube exhibits excellent high-temperature resistance and oxidation resistance; when exposed to high temperatures, it automatically forms a dense, protective Cr₂O₃ film, providing oxidation resistance that significantly surpasses that of grades 304, 316, and 309S.

Possible Alternative Grades

For customers with limited budgets, the 309S material is a viable option; although its high-temperature creep strength is lower than that of 310S, it remains suitable for high-temperature environments up to approximately 1050°C.
For applications requiring superior high-temperature strength, the 253MA (UNS S30815) material is recommended, as it offers a longer service life in furnace radiant tubes and high-temperature burner tubes.
For applications where temperature requirements are not exceptionally high, the 321H material is a suitable choice, as it can withstand temperatures up to approximately 900–950°C and exhibits excellent resistance to sensitization corrosion.
