The tensile strength and yield strength of UNS S32750 S32760 Super Duplex pipe far exceed those of conventional stainless steels such as 316L and 304. With a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) generally ≥ 40, these pipes are ideally suited for environments involving complex chemical media-including those characterized by high chloride concentrations, alternating acidic and alkaline conditions, and reducing acids.
Duplex stainless steel pipes are suitable for an operating temperature range of -50°C to 300°C; they exhibit no intergranular corrosion at high temperatures and remain free from brittle fracture at low temperatures. Consequently, they are well-suited for chemical processes involving alternating hot and cold cycles, the conveyance of cryogenic refrigerants, and high-temperature steam tracing applications.

Possible Alternative Grades
- For moderately corrosive environments-such as those involving low concentrations of chlorides or organic acids-S31803 / S32205 (2205 duplex stainless steel) is a suitable choice. Priced lower than super duplex stainless steels, it is widely utilized in non-critical process piping within chemical processing plants, as well as in water treatment systems.
- For extremely corrosive environments-such as those involving high temperatures, strong acids, or high concentrations of halides-Alloy 625 or Alloy C276 may be selected; however, these options come at a higher cost.
- For auxiliary chemical pipelines operating at ambient temperature and pressure, free of chloride ions, and subject to only mild corrosion, 304 or 316 stainless steel is a viable option. While offering the lowest cost, its service life is less than one-third that of super duplex stainless steel.

Q: What is the operating temperature range for Super Duplex steel pipes?
A: Both S32750 and S32760 are suitable for long-term use within the temperature range of -50°C to +300°C. However, they should not be subjected to prolonged use at temperatures exceeding 300°C (570°F), as this can easily lead to material embrittlement and a degradation of corrosion resistance.
Q: What testing and certifications do you provide?
A: We provide 100% hydrostatic testing, eddy current testing (ET), ultrasonic testing (UT), and PMI spectroscopic analysis. Each batch of products is accompanied by an EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 material certificate.
