Hydrogen Stainless Steel Pipeline

Hydrogen Stainless Steel Pipeline

Hydrogen Stainless Steel Pipeline is a seamless stainless steel pipe made from austenitic stainless steel with a high nickel content. Austenitic stainless steel exhibits excellent resistance to hydrogen embrittlement, high toughness, and stable mechanical properties in high-pressure hydrogen environments. The seamless structure effectively reduces the risk of leakage, making it widely used in hydrogen production, transportation, storage, and utilization systems.

Product Introduction

Products Description

Our Advantages

1. Hydrogen Embrittlement Resistance

  • Our pipes are made of austenitic stainless steel materials such as 316L and 304L, ensuring high toughness and ductility even in high-pressure hydrogen environments, reducing the risk of pipe cracking.
  • The pipes undergo rigorous chemical composition testing to ensure that the material meets ASTM A312 standard specifications, and the Hydrogen Stainless Steel Pipeline is manufactured using a hot extrusion followed by a cold rolling process, resulting in hydrogen-induced cracking resistance that is approximately 30% higher than that of purely cold-rolled pipes.

2. Surface Treatment

  • Our pipes offer two surface treatment options for the inner wall: electropolishing (EP) and mechanical polishing (BA). For high-purity hydrogen/electronic industry pipes, Ra≤0.2μm; for conventional hydrogen pipes, Ra≤0.4μm.
  • The pipes undergo Ra surface roughness testing, visual inspection, microscopic inspection, and cleanliness testing to ensure that the pipes are suitable for hydrogen or semiconductor applications.

3. Customized Services

  • TORICH provides customized size services, supporting imperial SCH series (SCH20/SCH40/SCH80/SCH160) and metric PN series (PN16/PN40/PN100), meeting the needs of hydrogen refueling stations, hydrogen production plants, liquid hydrogen storage and transportation, and other scenarios.
  • Customizable options include inner wall EP/BA polishing, pipe body anti-corrosion coating, and beveling at both ends; suitable materials are provided according to the customer's actual application, including austenitic, ferritic, duplex stainless steel, and nickel alloys.

4. Excellent Weldability

  • Hydrogen pipelines often require complex layouts or on-site installation. Our Hydrogen Stainless Steel Pipeline has reliable welding performance and is compatible with various welding processes such as TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), and laser welding, facilitating on-site installation.
  • Low-carbon materials such as 304L/316L prevent intergranular corrosion during welding, and the pipes undergo bright annealing treatment to reduce welding deformation and residual stress, lowering the risk of hydrogen embrittlement.

5. Quality Control

  • From raw materials to finished products, our pipes undergo a series of rigorous tests, including dimensional inspection, eddy current testing, intergranular corrosion testing, and tensile testing, to ensure that the materials meet ASME B31.12 and ASTM A312 standard specifications. The piping materials undergo specialized testing for hydrogen applications to ensure they maintain mechanical integrity in low-temperature, high-pressure hydrogen environments, thereby guaranteeing the safe operation of hydrogen production, storage, and distribution systems.
