The seamless coil tube is made from high-quality stainless steel-a dense metal with virtually zero fuel permeability-and can withstand high-pressure fuel pulsations and surges without expanding or bursting.
Austenitic stainless steel maintains stable mechanical properties over the temperature range –196°C to 650°C, resisting softening and deformation at high temperatures. In contrast, rubber fuel hoses undergo accelerated aging and cracking at temperatures above 100°C, typically offering a service life of only 3–5 years.
Customized Services
- We support customization of non-standard outer diameters and wall thicknesses, with minimums of 2 mm and 0.3 mm, respectively, and tolerances as tight as ±0.03 mm.
- TORICH offers CNC tube bending services, enabling 3D bending and forming based on customer-provided CAD models or sample parts.
- We provide end-processing services such as flaring (37°/45°/90°), flanging, swaging, grooving, chamfering, and end-face grinding.
- In addition to bright annealed finishes, we offer pickling, passivation, and electropolishing; optional enhancements include colored surface passivation, Teflon coating, or protective sleeving to improve wear resistance and facilitate zone identification.

Possible Alternative Grades
- TP304 is the most widely used standard grade for automotive fuel lines, suitable for corrosive environments involving conventional gasoline, diesel, and E10 ethanol-blended fuel.
- For ultra-high-pressure fuel systems and weight-sensitive applications, duplex stainless steels such as S31803 or S32750 are available, offering the high strength and superior corrosion resistance required for specialized scenarios.
- TP316Ti offers enhanced corrosion resistance and high-temperature performance; it serves as an alternative to TP321 and is suitable for automotive thermal management systems and exhaust-related fluid piping.
application areas
The specific applications of ASTM A269 seamless coil tube in automotive fuel systems are as follows:
- Low-pressure and high-pressure fuel delivery lines for passenger and commercial vehicles
- Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine common rails
- Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration fuel injection lines
- Fuel lines connecting the fuel filter to the high-pressure fuel pump
- Evaporative Emission Control System (EVAP) lines
- High-performance brake lines for racing and modified vehicles

FAQ
Q: Is this coil suitable for high-concentration ethanol-blended gasoline (such as E85)?
A: Yes. Stainless steel has excellent resistance to ethanol and fuel-related corrosion. For long-term E85 or methanol fuel applications, TP316L is recommended for its superior corrosion resistance.
Q: What do BA, AP, and EP surface finishes mean? Which is suitable for fuel lines?
A: A: BA (Bright Annealed) is the preferred finish for automotive fuel lines due to its smooth inner surface (Ra ≤ 0.8 μm). AP (Annealed & Pickled) is a cost-effective industrial finish. EP (Electropolished) provides ultra-clean surfaces but is mainly used in semiconductor and pharmaceutical applications, not necessary for fuel systems.
Q: Should automotive fuel lines use 304 or 316 stainless steel?
A: A: TP304/304L is suitable for normal gasoline and E10 fuels. For E85, coastal environments, or road salt exposure, TP316/316L is recommended for better corrosion resistance.
