Titanium Pipe For Exhaust

Titanium Pipe For Exhaust

TORICH Titanium Pipe for Exhaust consists of seamless titanium and titanium alloy tubing manufactured in strict accordance with the ASTM B861 standard. Produced through precision seamless rolling, cold drawing, and similar processes, these tubes leverage the significant lightweighting advantages of titanium alloys—specifically, a density approximately 60% that of steel. Furthermore, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1200°C, they effectively endure the high-temperature, highly corrosive, and high-vibration operating conditions inherent to automotive exhaust systems. These tubes are primarily utilized in core components—such as exhaust manifolds, exhaust pipes, mufflers, and catalytic converter connecting pipes—for high-performance passenger vehicles, racing cars, and new energy vehicles.

Outer Diameter: 5mm-420mm (customizable)
Wall Thickness: 0.5mm-55mm (customizable)
Length: Can be customized upon request
Steel Grade:Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V), Grade 7, Grade 9, etc.

A dense TiO₂ oxide film, 2 to 10 nm in thickness, forms on the surface of titanium, enabling the material to withstand corrosion from condensates containing sulfur and nitrogen oxides.

The operating temperature range for titanium exhaust piping spans from -250°C to 600°C (for long-term exposure). It retains exceptional mechanical strength even at high temperatures between 500°C and 600°C, with an instantaneous temperature tolerance of up to 800°C. This ensures that critical components within the exhaust system maintain their structural integrity, dimensional stability, and oxidation resistance under high-temperature conditions.

Possible Alternative Grades

  1. Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V): Offers superior strength, making it suitable for exhaust systems where ultimate performance is paramount; however, it entails higher costs and presents greater machining challenges.
  2. Grade 9: Combines excellent strength with good weldability, making it suitable for structural components within exhaust systems.
  3. Grade 1: Possesses optimal formability and corrosion resistance, making it the ideal choice for components subject to lower stress levels that require complex bending and forming processes.

FAQ

Q: Is titanium tubing easy to weld?

A: Our titanium tubing has excellent weldability, and its surface undergoes rigorous treatment, removing oil and oxide scale, reducing welding difficulty. TIG welding is recommended; the welded joint strength can reach over 95% of the base material.

Q: Can the strength of our titanium alloy exhaust pipes meet the vibration requirements of a car chassis?

A: Our tubing has passed mechanical performance testing and possesses excellent toughness and deformation resistance, enabling stable operation under conditions of car chassis vibration and road bumps.

Q: Can you provide custom sizes?

A: Yes, we offer non-standard custom services. In addition to dimensions, we can provide bends, reducers, dual exhaust pipes, and other irregular structures according to customer needs.
