Compared to carbon steel, Stainless Steel Tube Shapes-utilizing grades such as 304, 316, and 409-offer reduced corrosion risk and superior high-temperature performance; specifically, Grade 409 tubing boasts a heat-oxidation limit approximately 200°C higher than that of aluminized carbon steel.
Manufactured via cold-forming processes, TORICH stainless steel shaped tubing is available in round, square, oval, D-shaped, and various custom cross-sections, allowing it to perfectly conform to underbody contours and fit within compact assembly spaces.
Customized Services
- TORICH supports the customization of non-standard tubing, including elliptical, flat-oval, asymmetrical rectangular, D-shaped, arc-shaped, and various irregular profiles.
- We offer a range of surface treatments, including bright annealing, mirror polishing, electropolishing, and brushed finishes.
- We provide one-stop processing services, including bending, punching, slotting, end forming (swaging/expanding/facing), welded assembly, and precision finishing (deburring).

Possible Alternative Grades
- For automotive exhaust systems requiring superior corrosion and high-temperature resistance, 439 stainless steel is a suitable choice, offering enhanced resistance to condensate corrosion and high-temperature oxidation.
- For automotive structural components involving extensive welding, 304L low-carbon stainless steel is an appropriate option; it offers mechanical and anti-corrosion properties comparable to standard 304 stainless steel, with a negligible difference in cost.
- For applications demanding exceptional corrosion resistance-such as specialized vehicles operating in coastal areas or heavy-duty engineering vehicles-310S stainless steel can be selected; it delivers superior performance and withstands high temperatures of up to 1,100°C.
application areas
- Automotive exhaust systems: exhaust pipes, muffler pipes, catalytic converter housings, tailpipe assemblies, exhaust brackets
- Vehicle suspension systems: hollow stabilizer bars, anti-roll bars, suspension reinforcement tubes
- Automotive chassis and structural components: subframes, crossmembers, reinforcement tubes, impact protection structures
- Automotive seat structures: seat frames, support tubes, adjustment mechanism assemblies

FAQ
Q: Can Bright Annealed (BA) material be used directly for visible decorative parts?
A: BA surfaces feature a uniform silvery-white luster and are suitable for direct use on some interior trim components. However, for visible parts like exhaust tips-where aesthetic standards are exceptionally high-we recommend additional polishing or electropolishing processes to achieve a consistent mirror-like finish and enhance rust resistance.
Q: Are the weld seams of shaped tubes prone to cracking under long-term automotive vibration?
A: We utilize a process combining precision laser welding, weld seam leveling, and stress-relief annealing, ensuring the weld seam strength matches that of the base material. Professional vibration fatigue testing confirms that the tubes remain free of cracks and deformation under long-term in-vehicle vibration conditions.
Q: Can you bend shaped tubes without causing collapse or excessive wrinkling?
A: Yes. We employ mandrel and ball-mandrel bending technologies combined with lubrication systems to maintain profile tolerances after bending. Cross-sectional deformation is typically controlled to within 3%, though the specific result depends on the bending radius and shape.
